A few months ago, while I was driving along Eunos, I saw something that looked like a rainbow in the sky. The colours are exactly the same as a rainbow but the shape did not look like a rainbow at all. It shaped like a rainbow hill with two slopes. It was a very bright evening, not even a single drop of rain. I quickly asked Mel to take a look. I wonder if this is the rainbow bridge that every pet lover refers to? Hmm… For me I truly believe that it was a rainbow bridge. Perhaps more like a rainbow hill to me.

I met a neighbour when I was feeding the community cats at Hougang yesterday. Oh…the neighbours at blk 317 did not want me to feed the cats and I was asked by the town council to feed the cats away from the block. The cats had to eat under the sun and perhaps in the rain if they dare to step out into the open. It is ok for me to be under the sun, being in the rain is a little risky cos I don’t want to fall sick. I want to be healthy so that I can feed and rescue the community cats.

Mel was with me yesterday and I kept murmuring to her that what benefits will these neighbours gain to get rid of the cats and me. What good does it do to them??? Then I murmured to myself, they earn by putting themselves into a position that is going to be hard for them next time to find food and water and if they find food they will have to eat it under the rain and sun lor…

I am not lucky to be born in Singapore or others are unlucky to be born in countries where food and water are scarced… I believe our actions brought us to where we belong…

I hope the neighbours who hate the cats, kick their food and throw their water away or even attempt to beat the cats could one day bring some food for the cats or leave water for the cats so as to lessen the negative action they brought upon themselves.

Oh…i was saying that I met a neighbour, her cats passed away too and she has the same experience as I do. We feel our deceased cats still around. Their heavenly spirit still linger around us just like when they were still alive. I felt happy to talk to someone who has a similar experience. However, those who do not experience it think we are crazy just like Mel. She thought the reason that I felt Miemi’s present was because I was too upset until she felt Miemi herself. I still tell Miemi I lover her everyday. She is deeply rooted in my heart.

We found a permanent adopter for Coco on November last year. Coco found a loving home finally. The last time we visited her, we saw a sweet little bed that her Mummy  bought for her. She has a better environment to live in and someone who loves her. It is not easy to find a suitable adopter for cats. I believe all animals caregivers know it.

Coco

Coco is beautiful!

AA and BB, male and female were found by a family at Jalan Tenteram. We were approached by them to help to find an adopter for them.

Look at how adorable they are.

We managed to find them a sincere adopter, however, the day when I went to pick AA and BB up, the fosterer changed her mind. I was terribly upset not because the fosterer changed her mind, it was because the kittens have missed a chance of going to a loving home.

The fosterer obviously has financial difficulties. I am not looking down on them, they definitely have all the love for the kittens, however, I can see that the kittens will finally end up as a strays. When they are sick, nobody will send them to the vet or when they get old, they will no longer receive any attention.

The reason for the fosterer to change her mind was not to upset her grand children. The children are not more than 12 years old. How could they possibly have money to…..

The adopter was terribly disappointed and upset. I understand how she felt. I promised her to keep a look out for her.

Whatever it is, I wish AA and BB and the family who have them good health.

This cat was from Jalan Tenteram. After she gave birth for the first time, I approached her owner to get her sterilised. At first they agreed but later they want her to give birth again. Finally she got pregnant again, gave birth and finally, she is sterilised.

Sometimes I regretted why didn’t I just send ‘Mother cat” for sterilisation instead of allowing her next pregnancy. The owner did not agree to sterilise her kittens before sending them away. Looks like more problems are created. Three more unsterilised kittens. I am going to be smart next time…

Of all the cats I sent to sterilise, she is the most special one.

I see her everyday and feed her everyday. Even when I don’t get to see her, I would leave some food and water for her but always clear the empty paper bowl when I come back for her again.

Brownie is a community cat at Hougang Ave 7, the place where I feed the cats everyday.

I have never seen him before until lately. He roams around the area and “bullies” all the cats.

He is a good boy. I have no problem bringing him home. He is not aggressive towards human.

I didn’t get to see him everyday and I hope to see him everyday so that I can feed him. He has lots of small little old and new wounds on his face which was due to fight. However, I heard from the neighbours there that the noises has reduced ever since Brownie was sterilised. Hopefully, the residences live in a peaceful environment too.
