Miemi has lost a lot of weight. At first I thought she had bad stomach. Mel and I brought her to the vet and the vet did some blood test. Her liver and kidney were healthy. The vet prescribed some medicine to get rid of her stomach acid as well as medicine to increase the good bacteria in her stomach.

I had a hard time feeding her. Miemi was extremely angry with me and I had to pacify her. I understand how hard it is for a cat to take medicine. After a week of medication, she ate again but within a few weeks, she stopped eating and she suffered drastic weight loss.

We decided to bring her to the vet again. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a common type of cancer in cats. I was totally devastated upon hearing the news. The thought of Miemi leaving me was completely unbearable. I know she will leave me one day but I didn’t expect it to be so soon as she is only 11 years old.

Miemi is going for her 3rd chemotherapy today. The chemo is through injection. She did perfectly well after her 1st and 2nd chemotherapy. She ate, played and rested every now and then. I was happy and a little sad. I cherished every moment with her, spending quality time with her. I hope to improve her quality life. Right now I am on my bed typing and she is resting in a little carton box with her eyes slightly closed.

I really wish a miracle could happen to her, just like how it happened to me. I wish she could be with me happily for another 2 to 5 years or even longer and her cancer will be completely cured. Nobody knows what future lies ahead. What I can do is to love her as much as before.

The picture shows that she was waiting for me to open the door for her to conduct her inspection of the corridor. Look! She has a brand new collar!

Every morning I would let Miemi out to enjoy the sunlight as well as to walk around the corridor. I consider her as inspecting the corridor. She likes it when the wind blows at her. She will lift her head high and sniff the natural air.

She is always so loving and adorable.

Miemi has the biggest cake she ever had for her 11th birthday this year. The cake was not meant for her. Instead, the leopard-skinned multi-purpose scratch post cum resting place is for her. We buy her favourite cat treats for her almost once or twice every month. I should say, everyday is her birthday. Let’s look at the pictures below.

The box of grass is especially for her too. However, she does not seem to nip on it. Anyway, I love to see some greenery in my home. I trim the grasses every 2 to 3 days as it grows real fast. Miemi doesn’t seem to appreciate the grass. Neither did she play with the scratch post that Mel had brought for her. Perhaps the resting place is too small for her. I saw her resting inside with her head sticking out once. She looked so adorable.

Miemi is a big girl now. She is considered a senior cat. However, I feel that she is still a kitten. She has lost some weight these few months. She used to be overweight and now she is of ideal weight and I am happy.

She eats well. I cook for her every morning and the rest of the day, she would eat dry food. She would not eat wet food any other time of the day. She has treats every fortnightly. She just had her last one yesterday:). Can’t be feeding her too often.

The birthday cake below was decorated by me. I went to learn cake decoration at Wilton School in the morning.

It was not beautifully iced as it was my first time icing a cake. I love cake decoration so much. I felt like a kindergarten kid when I was learning. It was all about playing. How long was that…. since kindergarten….

Miemi’s name was on the cake and her age is reflected there too.

I took Miemi’s pictures every year during her birthday. She is the most wonderful creature in my life. I wish every man could love their pets and not punish or abuse them or even abandon them.

This birthday, I wish Miemi abundant health and safety and may she be happy always.

Happy Birthday, My Miemi Lee… 🙂

Yummy! I baked my first cake. I just love chocolates! I have not mastered the art of cake decoration yet, I will keep improving. This is a cake that looks simple but delicious. The chocolate is heavy. Mel and her family tasted it and they love it and I am so happy!

The next cake I am going to do for them is vanilla strawberry. I have a lot on my mind. I would think of all the cakes I want to do and how I want to do before bed and even the decorations except the names of the cake. That I would leave it to Mel. She is good with that.

Before I learn how to bake cakes, I used to eat a lot of cakes in cafes or any place where there are cakes. Now, I hardly buy them simply because I can bake one. Still, once in a while, I may need to taste some as I need to improve on my recipe and to understand the ingredients. Honestly, I enjoy eating cakes, especially chocolate cakes.

Mel and I went to Universal Studios last Sunday. Luckily it was not crowded. Before visiting Universal Studios, I had always dreamt of entering a castle. When I looked at the castle from far far away, I thought it was a museum or something is happening there. To my disappointment, the castle is just an attraction for people just to look at it.

Talking of “Far Far Away”, I saw Shrek and Fiona. Knowing that they are just a cartoon character, still I could not conceive the excitement in me. They were so real, standing right in front of me. Felt like slapping them to assure myself that they were real.

We saw Shrek, Dragon, Donkey, Pinocchio and Puss in Boots in the above photo. I did not see Fiona. Otherwise, it would have been perfect. This photo was taken at the parade which is held only on weekends. The parade was not as grand as the one I saw in Disneyland, Paris. Perhaps Singapore is just too tiny.

The first thing when I got into Universal Studios was to look for the Transformers ride. Universal Studios really makes everybody’s dreams come true. I felt that I was far far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Mel and I paid an additional $50 each for an express ticket. Mel said that I am impatient to wait for rides and thus suggesting an express ticket:p. So the waiting was less than 5 mins for the transformers ride.

The ride was fantastic and was the best ride I ever had. I felt like one of the characters in Transformers and Bumblebee and Optimus Prime were just fighting right in front of me! I was completely astonished. Though Megatron was a villian, he was all so real too.

When I got out of the ride, I asked Mel if there was another ride which was similar to Transformers. She said yes and brought me to the “Revenge of the Mummy” ride. I was all excited again. I thought it was another 3D ride.

It was not a 3D ride. However, it was exciting too. I nearly puked after the ride, feeling nauseous and a little giddy. Look at how fragile I am. Knowing my condition, Mel brought me to “Far Far Away” to watch a short Shrek 3D movie. I still felt uncomfortable after the show. Since it was still early, we went for a live stunt show. It was called the “Waterworld”.

After the live show, we decided to have lunch. We ordered a plate of rice to share. Knowing I couldn’t eat much under such conditions, I drank a can of Coke to help get rid of my nausea and it worked. I was normal again.

Once we got out of the restaurant, we saw characters from “Madagascar” singing and dancing. Do you know which character I like most? It’s Gloria:). She is just so adorable. Look at her!

Image

She is all amazing and sexy, isn’t she? She looked so cute in her Hawaiian constume. Oh, we caught the Madagascar 3 movie a few days ago in the cinema. It was fantastic and funny and somehow touching. Mel and I took a photo with Gloria too. I am going to set the photo as a wallpaper on my ipad. Why is Gloria sooooo adorable?

Next we went to another live performance which was the “Monster Rock”. I didn’t quite like it.

Oh! We went to the “Lights, Camera and Action!” choreographed by Steven Spielberg. I put my heart to watch the whole stage on action. I want to feel how it was like to be a director sitting right in front of the camera. Every set up was so real. I was thinking to myself at that moment that I can also make my room into a small little universe too:).

Mel went for Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs CYLON ride. I didn’t ride. Not that I was afraid of the rides. It was the discomfort that I hate and I don’t think I enjoy such rides anymore. Mel was brave. She was ok. No nausea or giddiness. Very strong huh! She was all happy about it!

We had a light tea break and went for the “Donkey Live” show. It was quite entertaining.

We had another hour before the parade starts so Mel decided that we go for the Transformers ride again. Our express queue can be used only once. So this time, we had to queue and the queue was really around 45 mins. Just in time for the parade.

We have taken a lot of photos and these are the few that I want to share.

Li Ning Singapore starts this Tuesday and I am looking forward to watch the live matches at the stadium!

I went to the finals for the badminton community games last night. Fought my last match. Just as I have expected, only Whampoa Team  B men’s singles won the match. My team had swopped a men’s double player to play men’s singles as he was capable of playing singles this round against Team A. If he were to play men’s double, we would have lost all the matches. If one has the potential to win a match, swopping players is a sensible and intelligent strategy to me. It is correct better to win one match than to lose two matches. But for my case where I was swopped to play a game where I had no chance to win, I now feel  it was completely stupid and deliberate on the part of my so-called coach. I somehow feel…. funny.

I gave my best. We had a rubber match. I was not disappointed, angry or sad. Even if I did not lose to them yesterday, sooner or later, I’d still lose to someone else as I was forced to play net. Team A played naturally. Nobody was pressurised. The lady player was free to play a “normal” doubles game.  This is the way I think games should be played. They have trust between each other which is very important in a match. I admire them for that. Admire them for they have respect and trust for each other.

Whampoa Team A had thrashed Whampoa Team B badly. The level of skill between the two groups was a huge gap.

I just received a text from our “coach”. He thanked us and said he was proud and happy. Of course he is happy. Still… Intelligently plotted. I am glad too that Whampoa has a chance to move on to the next competition which is in September.

I had done what a teammate should do – to finish the entire game and to support my team. I left only when all the matches had ended. I didn’t receive my medal as I was not there for that. I was there for the team. Everything has come to an end, finally and I am out from the team.

It’s another new beginning for me. All is history. I went for a game this morning, feeling refreshed. It was all over. I will not be pressurised to only play net. I am free to roam round the whole court playing a proper mixed doubles game. I had a great game this morning and I’ll be playing a lot in future. Just like Mr Lee said, “As long as I am still walking with both of my legs, I am still able to contribute.”

I look forward to participate again in the competition in 2014. This time, I will represent Sembawang :p.
