The day before we claimed Hero from AVA, AVA called me and informed me that they have Baby. I reported to AVA that Baby went missing at Hougang on December last year. I was so happy that I was able to see Baby again. Mel warned me that it may not be Baby. However, I still carried the hope of seeing him.

An appointment was made to claim Baby at 2pm. With the silly regulations that AVA had imposed, we can only claim him with a private residential address. Since we are living in a HDB flat, we have no choice but to ask CWS to help us.

We managed to get in touch with a volunteer and she was there to claim two cats too and she helped us. Hmm…true enough, that was not Baby and my heart sank immediately. We can’t just walk away. If we walk away, the little innocent life will be put to sleep. We claimed him anyway.

He hissed at us but he never scratches or bites. We thought he was an aggressive cat but we see none in him. He has lots of fear and he is always crouching.

When I was at AVA, I can feel a very strong ‘ying qi’ all over. I couldn’t breathe and I felt so heavy in my heart that I had to get out of the place.

I always ask Mel what could Hero have done that people would want to trap him and send him to die.

I am glad that we claimed him. Whenever I remove him from the cage, he would tend to jump back into the cage again. If he doesn’t return to his cage, he would cling tightly to me…

What did he do wrong? What is happening to man…?

Queenie has been missing for nearly a month. This happened two days after the neighbours complained to AVA and town council that the stray cats at Blk 317, Ave 7 were a nuisance. Fine, so we shifted to the next block which is Blk 316. After two days, Queenie went missing.

The complaint was about a black and white cat that pees and poos along the neighbour’s corridor. The worst thing is that the cats that I feed, including Queenie are not the ones that pee and poo around. Just because Queenie is a black and white cat and she became a victim.

Queenie was the reason why I am feeding the strays in Hougang. I remembered that she was heavily pregnant at that time and was always hungry. Since then I started to feed all the cats there.

I called the town council and they said that they did not remove any cats there. I do not believe in anyone. I reported her case to both the AVA and SPCA.

Mel and I started to dedicate our virtues to all sentient beings every time we finish feeding the cats. We hope that all human beings can be compassionate towards not only human being but animals too.

Whoever sees Queenie, kindly email me immediately at mayleening@gmail.com

Reward will be given.

I pray for her safety and that she is well fed and well taken care of.

Elka is sleeping next to me while I am watching FIFA World Cup. Perhaps Elka will get up later to watch with me.

Three days ago Elka was watching the match between Columbia and Ivory Coast. He got more excited than me. He even attempted to catch one of the players. When he could not get him, he was frustrated but did not give up. He eyed on the ball. The ball appeared and disappeared but he did not give up.

I spent most of my time looking at Elka instead of the match. I could not stop laughing at him. He was and is all so cute. He also watched the match yesterday. Probably he is too tired and needs some sleep tonight and so I am watching alone tonight:).

This year is not a year for Portugal and England is declining. I am watching the match between Belgium and Russia now. Already past half an hour and still no score. There are two Belgium players that I like. They are number 6 and 8. I like them not because they play well or look gorgeous. It is because they have hairstyle that look retro… :). Like Ronald Macdonald, just that theirs are black in colour.

Elka is still sleeping, so deeply and soundly. Holland is playing tomorrow. Maybe he will watch with me…

When I woke up one morning and found this paw print on my bed’s head board, it kept me thinking for more than a week on how did this paw print landed here. There is no place in my flat that my cats can get their paws dirty. I really could not figure out how, why or where this paw print came from.

Until one morning, Mel told me that while she was sleeping in the middle of the night, she saw a cat standing right on top of the wardrobe. Mel wears glasses, since she was sleeping at that time, she did not put on any glasses and she thought what she saw was Miemi. The mysterious cat jumped down to the bed and Mel got a better vision of the cat and so it was little Sunkiss.

Immediately I knew the paw print must be from Sunkiss. He jumped up the wardrobe and jumped down to the head board and down to the bed. I didn’t clean the top of the wardrobe and that was why the dirty paw print.

Sunkiss, my little hyperactive boy. Never stop flying around the house. It hurts me whenever I think of him. I wish I could find another Sunkiss but I know I will never find one, Just like I can never find another Miemi. Both of them live deeply in my heart.

Sunkiss

Little handsome Sunkiss will always have my prayers…

While Mel was feeding the cats at Whampoa, an indian lady approached her to help remove a cat at her corridor. Mel approached me to help as I am more familiar with handling cats.

We went to her place at 5th floor and there we saw Bluey. She was wet as the indian lady tried to shoo her with water. When I saw Bluey I was quite pleased as she is a Siamese crossbreed. At least it will be easier for me to find her a loving home.

We brought Bluey home and gave her a warm shower. I was surprised she actually enjoyed taking her shower and showed no signs of fear.

Mel dripped Frontline on her. To me she is cleaned. We put her in a 3ft cage and she never stopped meowing. And her meow sound weird to us. So I started to browse on Siamese cats. So Bluey meows like a pure breed and behaves like a pure breed too.

Bluey demands lots of attention. At first we didn’t get use to it but understand her in no time.

Bluey is such a graceful cat, at least to me.

After three days, I sent her for sterilisation. My nightmare finally haunted me. Bluey was pregnant with six foetuses. Her foetuses were removed and Bluey was sterilised. I was extremely guilty when the vet called me and told me about it. I cried myself to sleep and I promised to find her a loving home. I wouldn’t have had her sterilised if I knew she was pregnant. The vet wasn’t aware of her pregnancy before sterilising her. Bluey was skinny then and she was on her early stage of pregnancy.

Last Sunday, we brought Bluey to an adoption drive and we managed to find Bluey a home. It’s a chinese family of four. They will mesh up the windows and we will see them again this Sunday at their house. I need to see if Bluey is comfortable with her new home. If I can’t find Bluey a loving home, I would rather take care of her myself.

I hope the family would give Bluey all their love and Bluey too would do the same. I will keep praying for her and I know I am going to miss her…
