During my school days, I admired him for his guts, his great mind and his persistence over all the things he strove to do. A never say die attitude.

After I was out from school and during my early stage of working life, I sang praises about how he was a great man. Having to build this beautiful garden in a city was never easy. There were many times I defended him when someone accused him of any wrongdoing. I remember defending him until about seven or eight years ago.

I asked myself how can a Singaporean accuse someone who has done so much for the country and who with the right mind would say something so bad about him and how ungrateful these people were!

My life was tough then, with all the private certificates I had, obstacles still seemed to be everywhere. At that time, I couldn’t see what was wrong. All I did was to blame myself for not being hardworking during my school days.

No matter how hard I tried and worked in later years, private certificates never worked on me.
And I started to think to myself why the hell are there so many private schools when most of the certificates are not recognized? Why allow such schools to be around? Personally, it was a waste of time and money taking private courses and yet you have no where to go.

This was when I started having doubts about our real intention of our government.

I lost trust in our government.. I never sang praises about them again… Neither was I interested to know what he was up to but his Hard Truth hardcopy is still with me, sitting neatly on the shelf.
This morning when I was driving, I found it weird that why 88.3FM played instrumental music. Well, I loved it actually! I carried on listening. After driving for about 20 mins, my mind started to wonder how he was doing. I wouldn’t pray for a recovery but I asked for comfort to be given to him. And in the next 5 mins or so, I heard the host reading his biography and immediately I knew he was gone.
I was surprised that I was upset about it. My heart sank and I was feeling gloomy. It was 6 plus this morning. A morning that I did not anticipate.

The birds chirped beautifully. The cats were hungry. The sun rises and shone brightly. Hey… what was wrong with me?

The familiar place I walked along seemed to be quiet. Well… it was my heart that was quiet and it makes me wonder again what life is all about. Life… is indeed a journey to death.

Mr Lee Kuan Yew whom I once admired so much has finally left.

He was blunt still even he was at his last breath.
Mel and I intend to pay respect to him some time this week.
I asked Mel what would Singapore’s future be without Mr Lee? And I guess PAP is going downhill after all…
Nobody, nobody can deny Mr Lee’s hard work towards building Singapore. He was indeed an iron man!

Somebody posted on Facebook that a one eye ginger cat was found behind Singpost. The author was seeking for help. Well, the author could have helped the cat at that moment when he or she saw the cat…
My rescue friends shared the post on Facebook. One went down but could not find the cat.
Since everyone seems to be upset by what they saw and no one moves their ass, I decided to take a look.
I was at the scene yesterday evening around 7 plus. I didn’t know the exact location. All I can do was to recognized the surrounding in the picture that was  posted on the Facebook.
There were many water bowl and some dry food and many cats as well. And obviously there are feeders around.
I am glad that someone is taking care of these cats.
I continue my search and I saw a ginger cat walking towards me. The very first thing I wanted to look at was the cat’s eye.
Yes, it was the one eye ginger cat.

image

Well, he looked completely fine. He is not thin. His fur is nice. He is painless and active. There were no sign of discomfort.
Yes, he lost one eye, however, the missing eye looked like an old injury to me.
I had come to a conclusion that there was nothing wrong with him. However, one of the rescuer I know insist on sending him to the vet. In order to make sure that the cat was alright, I promised to come back again on the next day to send him to the vet.
The concern rescuer and I met up and send the cat to the vet just now.
I was right! The cat’s ok. Not life threatening and he seemed to be well taken care of.

We released him immediately.
There were many times I tried to find injured cats that were posted on the Facebook but it was always to no avail…
The ginger cat is friendly. A manja cat. Otherwise, I would not have caught him:).
I hope he is well loved by everybody who sees him…

Sunshine is still taking RetroMAD1 and supplement. I am cutting down on her supplement as Dr Cheng of Allpets said that she has strong immune system and she doesn’t need supplement.

image

Sunshine has put on weight. She is still very active and playful. She now has Shunshun to play fight with her everyday.

image

Oh…Sunshine is one year old already. I notice that she has grown slightly longer. However, her size is still so much smaller than an usual adult size.
Her next follow up appointment is tomorrow. After tomorrow, her next follow up appointment will be three months later.
Sunshine will recover!

There are two new comers from nowhere appear at my feeding area in Hougang.
Let me introduce Thunder, a white cat with grey patches.

image

He gets along well with Beauty. Beauty was usually with Snowy. Snowy is no longer around and I am glad that Thurder is getting along very well with Beauty.
Thunder, like Beauty, does not get close to humans.
The little grey cat below whom I named him Blurry always appears in front of me when I was about to leave.

I can see his blur face walking slowly towards me and looking sleepy and hungry. He didn’t allow me to go near him during the first few days. Today he rubbed my leg.
I am glad that both cats are sterilised.
Currently, I am feeding at least eight cats at Hougang and at least twenty-five cats at Jalan Tenteram.
Luckily Mel is sponsoring the cats’ food. Otherwise all these could not have happened.

Angel was at the Cats Museum during the last weekend and she was adopted by a nice chinese family.
The family is willing to pay for her sterilization and Mel and I were so happy to know that they are generous over Angel.
I brought Angel for sterilisation yesterday. She is doing fine and we are going to send Angel to her new home this Saturday.
Their windows grille and gate have been meshed up. They bought toys and sleeping bed for her. I believe Angel is going to be well loved by them :).

This photo was taken half an hour ago. Guess I am going to miss Angel…the little sweet kitten.
