Po is in the same room with Sunshine and Shunshun. Due to the excessive IV fluid that James Tan Vet has prescribed for Po, we decided to send Po to Dr Tharm for a second opinion.

On the second day after Po was discharged, we sent Po to Island Vet. We felt that 300ml of IV fluid was too much for Po. And we had made the right decision to give Po a second opinion.

Confidently, Dr Tharm told us Po’s condition was only urinary problem and he didn’t need IV fluid or any medicine that support or protect the kidney. He did not even require Eprex for his low red blood count. We were so happy and relieved that we do not have to do Subq for Po.

After two weeks of medication prescribed by Dr Tharm, we sent Po to run a blood test. His kidney function was normal. Blood counts were good. Everything was good and normal. All Po need is to take S/O dry food to prevent urinary tract infection. And what a relief!

Po weighs 6kg. He is not skinny at all. I really don’t know which part of Po that James Tan Vet finds him skinny. We have spent 2.7k at James Tan Vet and we did not even get to see or hear from the vet. Besides sterilising the cats, I don’t think James Tan Vet is capable of anything beyond sterilisation. ..

We are glad that Po do not have to go through having injections and taking medicine everyday. He is healthy like any normal cat right now. What I am going to do next is to integrate Po with Sunshine and Shunshun so that he will not be caged. Beside this, our main target is to find him a good home.

It’s half past two in the morning and I am still awake. So, I have sent a total of eleven male cats and four female cats for sterilisation. They are from a family of an Indian husband and a Malay wife.

They never stop keeping me from waiting for them. A lot of time had been wasted on waiting for them. Yes, I was pissed off and very angry. Finally, I blew my top. I asked them how many times must they make me wait. The wife was even better. I didn’t know that I am able to put up a mask so well… and that I was not genuine to help and I am a fake Buddhist. So… now I know! Quietly I took back  the two cages and five carriers which I lent them without wanting to argue much with them.

All carriers and cages were extremely smelly. I have expected to receive them in this horrible condition, therefore, I shall not be angry.

The cages and carriers were so smelly that I could not wait for another day to wash.

I was so glad to see Teshi and Vara watching me at the bathroom when I was washing and scrubbing the cages and carriers. Looking at Vara and Teshi makes me forget about what happened.

Teshi and Vara, both hugging each other. Both are sweet loving boys. What else can I ask for:)?

I had a horrible week last week. Despite the accusation, humiliation and the insult from Little Tab and Twister’s adopter, it did not stop me from helping Po. The hurtful speech may affect me emotionally, however, it did not change me. I am still who I am. The best part is, I am moving on.

When I was doing my regular feeding at Whampoa , I was alert by one of the resident that a black cat had been lying on the patch of grass at the back of their door for two days.

Despite how much I did not like to hear about the cat, still l had to take a look. So it was the chubby black and white cat. He barely eats my food as someone was feeding him regularly.

I saw him lying on the patch of grass and not moving a muscle. He was stained by his own pee. I didn’t see any blood or injury in him but I was sure that something was terribly wrong with him. It was eight plus in the evening. The sky was already dark and the neighbourhood was a little quiet that night. When I left Po to my vehicle to take my carrier, I turned back and looked at him. He was lying motionlessly and I really cannot understand how people can just leave him and not do anything about it. The sight added another pain in me. It was closing to 9pm and most of the clinics were closed. The only clinic I can think of was James Tan Vet. I sent Po to JTV and it took me only five minutes to reach there.

Po had a urine blockage. I thought it was only urine blockage but when the vet and nurses further investigated Po, Po had a bad kidney and is FeLV positive.

He looks chubby though but it is not true. He is all skinny. Po is still hospitalise. I don’t know what the chances are for Po but I know I am ready to take care of him. I already got a rescuer to teach me how to take care of patient with kidney problem. At the same time, I also asked a friend to help me raise fund.

I will be visiting Po tomorrow evening and I really hope Po’s conditions get better…

Last week was a challenging week for me. I have gained a “friend” and at the same time, I have lost one…

After living with us for six months, Ms Pearl has finally gone to good home two weeks ago. She has no problem finding a home in fact.  Many came for her during the last adoption drive. And everyone who came for her only wanted her and no one else.

Pearlie is definitely adorable and lovable. She has beautiful blue eyes. I remember during the period of time when I was taking care of Dharma, Ava and Lokit, Pearl was in the bedroom with us every night. I had to keep them in the room so that I can easily monitor them.

Every night there will be Royal Canin kitten dry food, canned food, cooked food and kitten’s milk. These food were actually for the kittens but Pearlie just loves to eat them. She finished their milk, enjoyed the dry food and feast on the cooked food. That was how she got fat I think:).

Look at how Pearl has transformed herself to.

The first day I rescued her. She was skinny and dirty. Today, Pearlie looks clean and healthy. I missed her though. Her cute little face with her beautiful eyes looking at me and her paws touching my cheek.

And Pearlie after her knee surgery.

I will visit Pearlie soon!

A week ago while I was on my way home, I saw a black and white cat which was new to me. So I went closer to check if he or she has been sterilized. When I approached the cat, a korean lady called out from behind, she asked if there was anything wrong with the cat and I was glad to know that she was the feeder. I told her he was not sterilised and had to do so. The lady has completely no idea as to how she can do so. As usual the kapo me started to volunteer myself again. I fixed an appointment and the surgery was done today.

I always send the strays to James Tan Vet a day before the surgery as I do not have a place to accommodate the cats. While trapping the cats last Sunday, an Indian man approached and asked me if I want any kittens. I also got to know that this Indian man and his malay wife have eight cats that were not sterilised. On the spot, I told her to bring the female cats first. I caught two female from the ground and two female from the couple.

I picked the couple’s cat up today. The nurse told me that three cats were pregnant and one on heat. Sadly, there was nothing much I can do but to accept it.

I helped to send the couple’s cats back. I waited for them at the void deck for an hour. Luckily, the Korean lady was there and kept me company. When the couple arrived, we chatted for another one and a half hour. I got to know the difficulties that the malay woman is facing while looking after her cats. The problem with her cats is they pee and poo everywhere. The male cats even spray on her. As she was describing, I was laughing all the way. She also told me that she actually has fifteen cats and one is already pregnant and all are not sterilised. She said she and her husband were so tired but they cannot bear to let the cats go.

I can see her love for the cats and her husband’s love for her. Cos her husband was the one who do all the cleaning. He even didn’t allow her to carry anything. The Korean feeder may be a little naggy but she definitely loves the cats a lot. I also got to know her a little tonight. Life isn’t easy for her too…

I have made an appointment on next Monday and will be bringing at least five female cats for the couple and one male cat for the korean.

On my way home just now, I appreciate all my cats so much that they do not pee and poo and spray everywhere. All of them know where their litter boxes are. It was twelve midnight when I reached home but I was and still all happy when I see my cats. The minute I came home, the first thing I did was to cook for them. I was fast tonight. I had everything done in 90 mins. Usually it takes two hours.

Helping the couple is challenging to me. 15 cats to be sterilised. 2 done and after 5 next Monday and it would be 8. I have to ask for 8 more slots… I have also promised to help them rehome the kittens after the pregnant cat has given birth. I hope their condition gets better after all the cat are sterilised. These people may be in a little trouble but I believe they are kind souls too:).
