It is not only the pigeons have broken feet, the mynahs as well. I believe many birds in the wild suffer the same fate.

The photo below shows how human hair coiled around the pigeon’s foot and it was already broken but still hanging on by the hair.

I couldn’t catch her and I didn’t see her again.

The mynah has lost her feet.

These birds are gentle and harmless. There is really no need to cause harm to them. Since there are ways to handle them humanely, always make a wise and compassionate choice. Killing is never necessary.

It is already not easy for humans to thrive, let alone animals. If we can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them! Always choose to be kind. Let’s learn to coexist with one another.

When humans fear death, animals have to die.

Whenever there is an outbreak, animals are the first to be blamed and killed. It was never humans’ greed over food that caused the spreading of viruses or diseases.

All animals carry virus and diseases like us and this is perfectly normal. Just like birth, illness, aging and death.

We all know that we are the cause for damaging the environment, Mother Earth and this is not enough. Today, we want to get rid of the animals, we make use of them, exploit them and sacrifice them for our own profit, our selfishness.

Pigeons make good companions and helped send messages in the past. Majority of the people today wants them to go away. We call them pests and make them look like one. The worst thing is we make others believe that they are pests!

I would think otters are likely to be considered as pests in Singapore in future as the population continues to grow. There are people who are already complaining about the otters. It’s a matter of when.

There are always humane solutions to manage the animals. But we choose an easy way over humane ways. However, if everyone could extend our compassion to all living beings and call for humane solutions, we could live not only harmoniously but also create a loving environment!

I remember when we first formed a “Sav the pigeons group” last year, we were all enthusiastic! Geri was one of the member, perhaps she still is. I am not in the group anymore but will keep supporting their work. Geri did a wonderful job and she shared with me. I would like to share it here.

For the welfare of the animals, I think we should support one another. We have our own strengths and weaknesses that can be put into good use. To me, everyone’s ideas are equally important and should be taken into consideration. There is no mine and yours. It’s for the animals.

During that time, everyone in the group had been working very hard to fight for the pigeons. They are still fighting…

It’s not only kids who will be traumatised by the event. Anyone at any age can be traumatised by such event!

Below is the link of the report of the incident which occurred at Meiling street where community cats and a dog were poisoned in the mist of poisoning of pigeons.

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/community-cats-pet-dog-at-mei-ling-street-were-not-poisoned-nparks

It was claimed by NParks that the cause of death of the cats and a dog was not due to the poison given to the pigeons.

The reporter of Mothership contacted me and asked if I have anything to say. I told her I’ve lost trust and confidence in our authorities and politicians and I have nothing more to say.

I told Mel and shared the news with her and other cats rescuers as well and we all know very well what’s going on.

Immediately after reading the news, I was boiling. After a while, I told Mel that I’m not going to ask any questions to our authorities again. Why? Because they will continue telling lies and will keep telling lies to cover their wrongdoings again and again and I don’t want to cause such harm to them.

Pigeons are beautiful, inside out!
