Another kitten was abandoned at Jalan Tenteram. We named her Gorgeous. I picked her three weeks ago. She was too young to fend for herself. I believe she was only three months old then…
Gorgeous is not so gorgeous, that’s why we named her Gorgeous!

image

Look at her! She is neither cute nor pretty:). The minute I saw her I knew to find an adopter for this tortie is going to be tough. I have to put an extra effort on her. Somehow, she looks unique to me and looking at her makes me smile:).

She is not sterilized. Will do so once the next adoption drive that is  on the 13 June is over.
I hope Singapore can have more adoption drives so that the community cats and dogs will have more chances of being heard and be adopted.
I pray that Gorgeous will find a  loving home soon! And my next blog on Gorgeous would be ” Gorgeous has found a loving home”:)!

Baobao was found roaming at Springleaf park for more than two months ago. She was with another cat named Chacha and two of them were abandoned at the park. Behind Springleaf park are landed properties. The people living there fought their territory with the cats. They didn’t want the cats to be around. They didn’t want their children to go near to the cats. They threatened to complain to AVA and a family even relocated Chacha to AMK market. Luckily, Chacha was found by a kind feeder and was rehomed.
Baobao is still with me. She was so scared and lost when Chacha was missing from her and we had to bring her home.

Baobao gets along with all our cats. She gives us no problem. She found a playmate that is Youyou(Bally).

image

Youyou is two months old and both 保保 and 佑佑 get along very well. They play fight everyday.
Baobao actually found a good adopter who wants her, however, we found her settling herself well in our home, we didn’t want to break her heart again.

We sent Mummy Yellow to Dr Heng, the only eyes specialist in Singapore, at Mt. Pleasant clinic for her eye check up a week ago. Yellow’s left eye was not fully developed. Her cataract is stuck to her lens. Thus, it makes the surgery impossible. Even if her cataract is removed, she is unable to have a clear version due to her underdeveloped eye. We think that opting for surgery is too risky for her as the cataract is sticking to her lens. Hence we decided not to go for it.

In years to come, if her cataract worsens, we may have to remove her eye ball. If we do not do so, Yellow would suffer a lot of pain in her eye. Since Day One when I saw her, she was already like this. I hope that Yellow’s eye will always remain this way. Her vision may not be clear but she does not feel any discomfort at all.

Yellow sleeping on a hammock that I recently bought for them.

Yellow’s kittens have grown so much! In less than two weeks time, they will be five months old.

Hugo has the biggest size among all.

Sparkie is mischievous and brave.

Vanilla is gentle.

Lastly, Minnie, the only female. She is always bullied by the boys and the smallest among all. She looks like her Mummy.

Not only do I often get confused with Yellow and Minnie, Mel too. We also get confused with Hugo and Sparkie, Elka and Vanilla.

I recently bought three hammocks for all of my cats.

I think Monnie enjoys the most.

Prince Elka feels really good too!

What should I buy for them next? 🙂

I did a huna for Gracie and Bluey. These two ladies are the most notorious cats in the family. Bluey tends to slap at any cats that cross her path and Gracie tends to attack any cats she feels she doesn’t like it. Both love to stare at each other. Bluey walks away most of the time.
This is Gracie.

image

Gracie looks graceful, isn’t she? A “very good girl’ face. Cheated! We got cheated almost by all the cats we brought home!
Bluey.

image

Bluey. So beautiful! An adoptable face. Not true! So naughty!
After the huna session, they both looked calm. I kept observing them and when both stared at each other, no fight was initiated:).
Every animal has its personality. No matter how terrible a cat’s personality is, it never served a reason to abandon or euthanize them. They deserve to be loved!

More than 300,000 animals were killed during a two-day religious festival in Nepal. This was to honor Gadhimai, the goddess of power, to bring worshippers good luck.
When I saw the pictures of hundred of thousands of buffalos being slaughtered, I felt the land was cold and flooded with blood. In my mind, it was just like a red sea.
I can see how stale the air was  with dead buffalos flooded everywhere. The energies of fear drowned the land of Bariyarpur. The energy tells me that nothing is free on earth and it remains. Lives had been taken but… not for free. No man has ever escaped the law of nature or the law of karma. Slaughtering of the buffalos by the men holding axes was beyond cruelty. I can feel the fear of the buffalos, the lives of the innocent. I was utterly upset with humans and my heart went wholly to the animals that were sacrificed for humans’ foolishness!
Today, a magnitude of 7.8 earthquake hit Katmandu, Nepal. The latest news says that death poll could reach 10,000. No, I am not laughing. Neither am I cursing the Nepalese. And if you ask me if I feel sad about what is happening in Nepal right now, my answer is NO. I don’t hate or dislike human. My feelings for humans is neutral.
To curse the butcher who slaughtered the animals mercilessly and the people who participated in the festival as well as the worshippers, I would rather keep them alive and pray for them to be enlightened immediately.
Will more than 600,000 animals be slaughtered during the next Gadhimai festival since Gadhimai, the goddess of power, did not bring good luck to Nepal after the sacrifices?
Gadhimai, the goddess of power, definitely did not trigger the earthquake. The humans did!
