Things really turned out bad. Part of it was my fault. When I visited the fosterer’s home, the kittens were active and playing and I did not bother to hold or even check on them. It was because the fosterer said that they ate a lot. They ate all the wet and dry food. And so I thought all should be fine.
Until the kittens were six weeks old, I started to spot one with protruded ribs. Immediately, I sent all of them to the vet. Vet said that the kittens were skinny and had flu.
I already told the fosterer to separate her cat that had flu from my kittens. Stubbornly,  she refused to.
I was extremely furious and I brought all of them home. And I realised that they don’t eat dry food at all. They only eat wet food. They were obviously malnutrition. Both the fosterer and the mother lied. I call them a liar.

This is Lady. She was tested FIV positive. She has five kittens. I named them Dharma, Ava, Lokit, Teshi and Vara. Dharma, Ava and Lokit are suffering from epilepsy at the age of 6 weeks! Ava has passed on a week ago…

image

This is Ava. So tiny and fragile.

image

This is Dharma.

And Lokit.
Dharma and Lokit are still battling with the disease. I wish and ask for nothing but their recovery. I simply hope that they are able to survive through the kitten stage and once the kitten stage passed, all their diseases will be gone.

Teshi and Vara.
Teshi is a little bony and I am trying my best to build her up. Vara is normal and extremely active. The healthiest among all.
It was another mistake I made, by not properly checking on the cats and/or kittens and easily trusted someone I hardly know. Life has been lost all because of my negligent. And I call myself a rescuer? Bullshit!

She was less than six months then. As she was a newly abandoned female, I had to sterilise her as soon as I can. However, I did wait for three weeks before I sent her to spay. And that was on December 2013.

According to the information on the website, cats which are FeLV positive do not live more than three years.

Suigu was not eating since four days ago. I also noticed that she has fresh marks and scratches over her body and it was only recently. My guess is the virus could have spread to her during the attack from other cats to her.

I send her to the vet last night but it was too late. She passed away after midnight.

image

Suigu is around two-and-a half-years-old I guess. That is too young for a cat…

Suigu loves to eat Royal Canin fit 32 a lot. She was always waiting for my arrival and I never forget to give her plentiful of it. Never.

I remember I even quarrelled with a chinese family there because they refused to let her eat. Suigu was small and skinny then and she was always hungry. The chinese family kept throwing her food away, thus not allowing her to eat and that was my food that they were throwing. Good! They have offended me too! There I raised my voice as loud as I could. Sometimes, towards selfish and unreasonable people, raising voice (which I hated so much) is the best solution. I don’t really care about my image as long as the cats get to eat and stay alive.

That was Suigu and I.

Suigu will be cremated and Mel and I will do a POWA for her as well as the four black kittens that have passed away recently.

The only space I have is my bathroom.

image

The bathroom is specially decorated for Dahlia.

image

And below picture is little Dahlia.

image

Dahlia like Lady, they are from Thomson. Dahlia too was heavily pregnant.
Dahlia was trapped by me on 1st of March. I sent her straight to the fosterer’s home after trapping her. However, the fosterer did not meet my requirements and I had to send Dahlia to the boarding house. Due to Pearl’s heavy medical cost, I had to bring Dahlia home to save the boarding fee. And at the same time, I also found another fosterer for Dahlia. However, the fosterer neither wanted me to visit Dahlia nor did she want me to interfere with anything. I refused to accept her terms. It all sounded unreasonable to me.
In the end, I have to keep Dahlia myself and am most willing to do so.
Dahlia has made me so popular. Because the second fosterer was so unreasonable, I had to tell her what is the role of being a fosterer. That is to return all cats or/and kittens to the rescuer when the fostering period is over. I even told her that she is allowed to adopt the cat or kittens if she wants to. Anyway, she was unhappy and posted our conversation on Facebook. I did not see it but my friend did. I only wish that she could post all of our conversation so that everyone who read it would know what was really going on.
Although i have prepared a cage for Dahlia, I have no intention to cage Dahlia. So Dahlia was free to move about within the bathroom.
On the second day, Dahlia had made me infamously popular.
On that morning, I went to check on Dahlia after I woke up. When I opened my door. I saw no trace of her. I can’t see her in the cage, not in the little house that I have made for her. She was no where to be found. I noticed the window was opened and I came to a conclusion that Dahlia could have jumped down from the bathroom and left me…
I quickly went to my service yard and see if she survive. I saw her paw print on top of my air con compressor and I affirmed that Dahlia did indeed escaped from the bathroom window.
My heart sank! I went down to look for her carcass but it was no where to be found. Mel suggested that I call town council. And I did and was told that no one pick any carcass that morning. That was strange!
I went every floor leaving notes in my neighbour’s door step. I went down to look up at all the service yard and I realised that in order to have a better view, I need to be at opposite block and ask for permission from the owner of the flat to allow me to go in to their service yard(our service yard faces each other) and have a clearer look. A malay guy on the 17 floor on the opposite block was home and he allowed me to take a look at his service yard. I really appreciated his kindness.
From his service yard, I thought I saw Dahlia in between the floor of my air con ledge and on the roof of the unit below. However, the guy did not see it. I told him to help me keep a look out and I went home straight.
When I reached home, I went to the bathroom again to investigate and walked to the service yard to look out at my air con ledge to check on it again. I saw nothing. Suddenly I heard a voice from my opposite block, it was that guy, he yelled at me and said that Dahlia was in between my floor and the roof of the below unit.
Quickly, I called the rescuer to help. Rescuer arrived half an hour later. He managed to grab Dahlia savely. At that moment of rescuing, to me the rescuer risked his life cos he was out of my flat and only had a pole on his right side to hold on to. To the rescuer, he said he only risked his arm. Dahlia bite him badly on his hand while he grabbed Dahlia. It was either the rescuer let go of Dahlia or he let her bite his hand and save her. He chooses the latter one.
And Dahlia was back to her bathroom and this time I shutted my bathroom window.

image

I was so happy. I thought I will never see Dahlia again.
The rescuer who rescued Dahlia texted me on the next day, he told me his picture was in stomp and the person who reported it told Stomp that Dahlia has fell from 20th storey and died. And I was popular again cos the news went viral in Facebook and many cursed and sweared me. I did not fight back cos I think I was wrong for not closing the bathroom window.
In order to protect the rescuer, I called Stomp to tell the whole story the next day.

I nearly lost Dahlia 3 times.
This morning, 16 March, Dahlia gave birth to four beautiful Dahlias and I was so happy even until now.

Yes, we have decided to have Pearl’s knee fixed. Pearl’s knee was dislocated. According to Dr Tharm, her injury had been quite a while. It had been a week since the surgery had been done and Pearl is doing well.

image

Pearl’s kungfu leg! So cute!

Pearl was discharged two days ago and she is resting well at home.

image

She will have her bandage removed tomorrow and she will have to undergo physiotherapy. I hope all is well for her and she will recover quickly.

Little Pearl was rescued on 16 Feb at Whampoa. When I first saw her, her body looked strange to me. I moved further to pet her and she allowed me. When she started to walk, her right hind leg was hanging, unable to land on the ground. She walks with three legs. I think she was born deformed. Whereas my friend thinks that her leg was broken and healed itself in a funny way…

image

This picture was captured on the day I brought her home.
My intention is to find her a forever loving home. Pearl is now at Guest Haus and we are putting Pearl up for adoption at Guest Haus. I believe once she has integrated with other cats, she will be better.
Lady was rescued on 18 Feb at Thomson. I board her at Guest Haus and manage to find Lady a fosterer after five days. Lady is at fosterer’s home now.

image

The reason why I rescued her was she was heavily pregnant and Lady has a young face. I estimate her to be around six months old. She gave birth to five healthy kittens on 25 Feb.

Lady and her five kittens.

My friend calls it a black beauties rescue.
Many wanted to spay Lady. They said that I was not being realistic to save her. Many opposed. However, when I saw Lady’s kittens was born and six precious lives are safe and sound now, I felt that all these are worthwhile. 🙂 Next is to spay Lady when she no longer nurse her kittens and all kittens and Lady will be sent for vaccination. And next would be putting them up for adoption. I will not release Lady back to where she was but will do my best to find her a good home.
