Despite losing to China, Gu Juan played well. Japan’s team has improved a lot. 2 groups of women’s double have made it to the semi-finals. China will be playing against Korea. Although there is a chance that the Koreans may win, the Chinese will undeniably be a tough match for them.

Lee Yong Dae of Korea is good. He is playing men’s double against my favourite pair, Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun of China tomorrow. Going to be real tough for the Koreans. I predict that the Chinese would probably sweep all the trophies. They are strong. My favourite match today was the man’s single between Lee Hyun Ii of Korea and Chen Jin of China. I like the way that Chen Jin is playing. He is fast and always plays the attack strategy. Unlike Bao Chun Lai, he plays ‘soft’.

Tomorrow’s match starts at 2pm. I am still thinking of whether to watch at the stadium or at home. I would probably be watching at the stadium because not all matches will be telecast on TV. I’ll stay home for the final.

Been at the studium for 5 hours. I am tired. Looking forward to tomorrow’s match.

I have been sitting at the Singapore Indoor Stadium these 3 days, watching exciting badminton matches. I will not miss the Singapore SuperSeries every year. Lin Dan is here this year. Besides him, a number of top players like Taufik Hidayat, Tantowi Ahmad, Liliyana Natsir and Bao Chunlai are here for the competition. Our women’s double won last year but today we lost to Russia. I felt that our women’s double players are not good enough.  I watched them play this afternoon. They were playing only defence. I also noticed that they were very slow in responding and that may be why they chose to use the defence strategy. Even if they had won the match today, they woud not make it through tomorrow.

The picture on my right is the indoor stadium. The picture was taken before the matches started. There were 4 courts. I was there 15mins early just to get a good seat. I was anticipating to watch Bao Chunlai playing the men’s single. He lost to Viktor Axelson of Denmark. What a disappointment for me! However, it was great watching him play.

The picture on the left was taken when the matches started.

I did nothing in the stadium but only watch the games. I felt completely drained out when I reached home. I don’t know why. I had my dinner and went to nap. I was dead tired. I was at the stadium from 2pm to 6pm – merely 4 hours and I felt so tired. It is 10pm now and the matches are still going on there. I can see the live score from the website now.

Wang Zhengming of China will be playing against Viktor Axelsen of Denmark tomorrow and I believe it is going to be an exciting match. Our woman’s single player, Gu Juan will be playing against Wang Xin of China. Well, needless to say, I believe it is going to be a tough match for Gu Juan… I’ll of course support our player all the way.

Tomorrow’s match will start at 3pm. I would probably leave after watching our team play. Merely sitting there causes me aches. It is worse than playing a 3-hour badminton game. Looking forward to tomorrow’s matches.

Miemi just loves to be around when I am arranging flowers. She would stay close to me, looking at me, looking at the flowers and even sleeps with the roses. I am never alone and I just love to disturb her by waving the roses right in front of her nostrils. Her only reaction would be…confused.

I couldn’t get her up, so I put a red rose beside her and took a picture. I wanted to clear the newspaper after I had finished with my flower arrangements. However, Miemi just wouldn’t let me clear it. Her best weapon is her weight. She just slept on the newspapers. She always does that.

You know what, I really love to see Miemi curl herself up while she is sleeping cos I just love to see her round body. So round that you feel like you wanna pinch her but I don’t pinch her. Just tickle her a little but she never feels  ticklish. I believe she has thick skin. Definitely not as thick as an elephant or and rhino. When I brought her for vaccination, she didn’t seem to feel the needle poking into her skin. Well, that’s good, isn’t it? She doesn’t feel pain and I don’t feel her pain too.

It is going to be a busy week for me. I probably would be out the whole day tomorrow. When I am out, Miemi would be a queen occupying my bed and would sleep exactly where I sleep and she would probably imitate the way that I sleep. Sigh… What a lovely Miemi!

It’s been quite a while again. Had an interesting time during the last few weeks. That will include teaching flower arrangements to  the elderly in an elderly day care centre. flower arrangement with the elderlyThe photo on my right is me, enjoying myself guiding the elderly. It was not difficult to tell them what to do cos these elderly were capable. I simply give them instructions and they can do it by themselves. I saw their laughter and this brightened my day.

The flower arrangements below were done by the elderly. It was a simple flower arrangement and I can’t possibly come up with something that is complicated. Mel was there helping too,. She was the one who took the pictures and she helped to guide the elderly along too. She got along real well with the elderly and got a kiss from one of them.

I prefer orange roses to pink ones. I meant the colour of the roses and not the flower arrangements. I love all flower arrangements done by the elderly. We spent an  hour with them and laughed a lot.

At the end of the day, we walked the elderly to the vehicle which would send them home.

Well, I don’t know how my life would be if I were to be like them. Well, sometimes it is really not a choice for me to decide whether to be at the day care centre, elderly home or my own home… Live well today!

I have not been here for almost 2 months. Many interesting things happened over these 2 months. Although the sales on Mother’s day was not as good as Valentine’s Day, it still kept me busy and tired. I was also invited to collaborate with a yacht rental company to design floral packages for yacht weddings. I have created some which you can see on www.redmapleflorist.com.sg I would have to come up with more designs. Right now, I have some ideas on what to do. Life is getting challenging and interesting. I just love it.

I have volunteered myself in one of the elderly day care homes near my home. It saves me time. I felt kind of dumb when I was with the elderly. I can’t converse well with them and I don’t know what to do and I always have to be told what to do. Somehow, I feel kind of stupid:). Anyway, whatever the person-in-charge asks, I’ll just do it. As long as it is for the benefit of the elderly, I’ll just do it.

The last time I went to prepare food for the needy people was… last month. Oh… I was kind of bad-tempered when I was told to pick out the rotten cucumbers. I was impatient as I didn’t know how to spot the rotten ones. All I knew from my partner who was picking cucumbers with me that as long as the cucumber is soft, just throw them away. Somehow I felt that all cucumbers were all soft to me. I felt impatient and feel like going back home at that moment cos I really didn’t like to do the picking.

I sneaked off to do other work instead. I cut the vegetables. There was this uncle, who was a volunteer too. Can’t remember his name. He was doing the same thing like me too. The person-in-charge wasn’t polite with him. I asked him, “Why do you allow the person-in-charge to treat you like this?” He questioned me, “What is the purpose of you doing here?” I know the reason why I was there, however, sometimes when anger or when the ego is hurt, you tend to forget your purpose of being there. He reminded me why I was there. Since then, whenever I volunteer myself, I would remind myself the purpose of being there and I no longer had the impatience. The uncle also enlightened me that whatever we prepare for them, it can be their last meal, therefore, when we give, we must do it from our heart. Not only should I give with my heart but whenever I had meal with families and friends, I enjoy myself whole heartedly with them. I make sure there is no quarrel or disagreement on the table.

I was supposed to help out on Monday, but the sales on Mother’s Day had tired me out and I had an eye infection so I had to miss the session. The next one will be on the 23rd. I hope I can be there on the 19th instead.
