Pigeons culling will be expanded to another three constituencies. Is there really no way that we can help the pigeons? Is it that difficult for humans to coexist with the pigeons?
I believe we could use humane ways to manage the pigeons population and also to coexist with them. In order for this to happen, it would require a lot of effort, time and resources. It will take years to complete the process and to see the results. Anything that is not making profit, our government will not do it. They would rather uproot trees and remove a real forest and build a fake one to make profits.
I’m sad that there is nothing I can do for the pigeons who are intended to be killed. But good thing is, the pigeons are not creating unwholesome actions. Therefore, there is no negative kamma created. It calms my mind whenever I think about it. Supporting coexistence and humane ways in treating animals often benefit both humans and animals. When we care for the animals, we are also helping the people.
To do good often requires time and effort. Although I can’t stop the killing, I can always help the pigeons in need. It is always much easier to help when we’ve accepted the cause and condition, that is accepting that the pigeons would be killed!
Yes, wishing all sentient beings to be enlightened is the best way to end all killings.

Pigeon and mynah coexist in a city we call Singapore.

Today I had unstrung the entangled human’s hair from another pigeon’s feet!
Strings and hair are often the cause of the pigeons’ broken feet. The pigeons are unable to remove the strings themselves and as time goes by, the strings get tightened and eventually the pigeon’s feet got swollen, cut their flesh and amputate the feet.
Whenever I see pigeons who had strings or hair entangled on their feet, I would not hesitate to try my best to catch them and cut it away. I always carry a scissor with me and also silver gel to apply on any animal who has open wound and two pairs of disposable gloves as well.
I don’t get to catch all of them…but I wish I could. I wish I could relieve their pain and that they do not have to go through such prolonged pain.
I’m glad I have helped another one today. It was able to walk freely.

A pigeon to remember. She used to appear after midnight. May all be safe!

Below is the link of the report of the incident which occurred at Meiling street where community cats and a dog were poisoned in the mist of poisoning of pigeons.
It was claimed by NParks that the cause of death of the cats and a dog was not due to the poison given to the pigeons.
The reporter of Mothership contacted me and asked if I have anything to say. I told her I’ve lost trust and confidence in our authorities and politicians and I have nothing more to say.
I told Mel and shared the news with her and other cats rescuers as well and we all know very well what’s going on.
Immediately after reading the news, I was boiling. After a while, I told Mel that I’m not going to ask any questions to our authorities again. Why? Because they will continue telling lies and will keep telling lies to cover their wrongdoings again and again and I don’t want to cause such harm to them.

Pigeons are beautiful, inside out!

All tremble at the rod,
all fear death.
Treating others like oneself,
neither kill nor incite to kill.
All tremble at the rod,
All love life.
Treating others like oneself,
neither kill nor incite to kill.
Creatures love happiness,
so if you harm them with a stick
in search of your own happiness,
after death you won’t find happiness.
Creatures love happiness,
so if you don’t harm them with a stick
in search of your own happiness,
after death you will find happiness.
