I started off with practising loving-kindness and compassion. Yes, it's the Mahayana way of practising the Bodhisattva's path. As I threaded along, I started to realise that this path seemed to lead me to nowhere and I started to explore not only Pureland buddhism but also the Theravada tradition. I read pali canon almost everyday for at least 3 years and meditated accordingly to what was taught in the suttas until one day, I finally understood the Four Noble Truths as a whole. I've abandoned Mahayana buddhism and am walking the path that the Buddha taught. Nirvana is what Buddha wanted us to attain. Loving-kindness and compassion can be found all over the pali canon. TheBodhisattva path was never mentioned nor walked by the Buddha. Years of reading the suttas and meditating enable me to discern the truth from the false. Nirvana is incomprehensible and unfathomable. If it is comprehensible and fathomable, it isn't Nirvana. Nirvana is to be experienced and not to be understood intellectually. When everything ceases, there cannot be a Buddha Land. Read what has been passed down by the Buddha for He is our teacher. No one has the qualities to overwrite the Buddha’s teachings. Absolutely no one! Here I am in the right path and I hope everyone too could read the pali canon, dwell in the Dhamma by making time for meditation. Eventually, you too would see the truth like I do. May all of us see the truth like the Buddha did in this very lifetime!
