Po is in the same room with Sunshine and Shunshun. Due to the excessive IV fluid that James Tan Vet has prescribed for Po, we decided to send Po to Dr Tharm for a second opinion.
On the second day after Po was discharged, we sent Po to Island Vet. We felt that 300ml of IV fluid was too much for Po. And we had made the right decision to give Po a second opinion.
Confidently, Dr Tharm told us Po’s condition was only urinary problem and he didn’t need IV fluid or any medicine that support or protect the kidney. He did not even require Eprex for his low red blood count. We were so happy and relieved that we do not have to do Subq for Po.
After two weeks of medication prescribed by Dr Tharm, we sent Po to run a blood test. His kidney function was normal. Blood counts were good. Everything was good and normal. All Po need is to take S/O dry food to prevent urinary tract infection. And what a relief!
Po weighs 6kg. He is not skinny at all. I really don’t know which part of Po that James Tan Vet finds him skinny. We have spent 2.7k at James Tan Vet and we did not even get to see or hear from the vet. Besides sterilising the cats, I don’t think James Tan Vet is capable of anything beyond sterilisation. ..
We are glad that Po do not have to go through having injections and taking medicine everyday. He is healthy like any normal cat right now. What I am going to do next is to integrate Po with Sunshine and Shunshun so that he will not be caged. Beside this, our main target is to find him a good home.
