A week ago while I was on my way home, I saw a black and white cat which was new to me. So I went closer to check if he or she has been sterilized. When I approached the cat, a korean lady called out from behind, she asked if there was anything wrong with the cat and I was glad to know that she was the feeder. I told her he was not sterilised and had to do so. The lady has completely no idea as to how she can do so. As usual the kapo me started to volunteer myself again. I fixed an appointment and the surgery was done today.
I always send the strays to James Tan Vet a day before the surgery as I do not have a place to accommodate the cats. While trapping the cats last Sunday, an Indian man approached and asked me if I want any kittens. I also got to know that this Indian man and his malay wife have eight cats that were not sterilised. On the spot, I told her to bring the female cats first. I caught two female from the ground and two female from the couple.
I picked the couple’s cat up today. The nurse told me that three cats were pregnant and one on heat. Sadly, there was nothing much I can do but to accept it.
I helped to send the couple’s cats back. I waited for them at the void deck for an hour. Luckily, the Korean lady was there and kept me company. When the couple arrived, we chatted for another one and a half hour. I got to know the difficulties that the malay woman is facing while looking after her cats. The problem with her cats is they pee and poo everywhere. The male cats even spray on her. As she was describing, I was laughing all the way. She also told me that she actually has fifteen cats and one is already pregnant and all are not sterilised. She said she and her husband were so tired but they cannot bear to let the cats go.
I can see her love for the cats and her husband’s love for her. Cos her husband was the one who do all the cleaning. He even didn’t allow her to carry anything. The Korean feeder may be a little naggy but she definitely loves the cats a lot. I also got to know her a little tonight. Life isn’t easy for her too…
I have made an appointment on next Monday and will be bringing at least five female cats for the couple and one male cat for the korean.
On my way home just now, I appreciate all my cats so much that they do not pee and poo and spray everywhere. All of them know where their litter boxes are. It was twelve midnight when I reached home but I was and still all happy when I see my cats. The minute I came home, the first thing I did was to cook for them. I was fast tonight. I had everything done in 90 mins. Usually it takes two hours.
Helping the couple is challenging to me. 15 cats to be sterilised. 2 done and after 5 next Monday and it would be 8. I have to ask for 8 more slots… I have also promised to help them rehome the kittens after the pregnant cat has given birth. I hope their condition gets better after all the cat are sterilised. These people may be in a little trouble but I believe they are kind souls too:).
