During the last four weeks, Sunshine was prescribed with steroid, antibiotic, iron and medimune supplements and EPREX injection. Steroid and antibiotic had to be taken twice a day, iron and medimune supplements once a day and EPREX injection three times per week.
I have learnt how to administer medicine to cats when Miemi was sick. I have learnt so much. Thanks to my beloved Miemi:). However, to give injection to cats, hmm…I am unable to do it. Even though it is for the wellness of Sunshine, I am still unable to bring myself to do it. Luckily, Mel was around. She helped with the injection and she did well. However, she didnt think so and suggested that we send Sunshine to the vet and let the professionals do it! Actually I felt the same way too:).
Sunshine had a blood test after two weeks and had another one after two weeks again that was last Saturday. Sunshine’s condition has improved so much. She has put on 400g.
This week I need not feed her twice a day. The dosage of her medications have reduced to once a day and EPREX, twice a week.
Mel and I also brought her to Allpets vet clinic at Jalan Kayu for a new drug called, RetroMAD1, that is on trial worldwide. I started to give her this evening and Sunshine didn’t seem to like it.
At this point, to be able to see Sunshine jumping around and eating well, I am really very happy,
With RetroMAD1, I hope Sunshine’s immune system will grow stronger.
Every time after feeding Sunshine medicine, I would give Sunshine lots of treats. Whenever I am getting Sunshine’s medicine, Sunshine would come right to me cos she knows treats await her after she takes her medicine. So feeding her medicine is easy :).
Everything looks positive at the moment and I hope Sunshine grows strong each and every day.
