I shifted last Sunday, 1st of December 2013. Sembawang is far from everywhere. However, it didn’t stop me from feeding the community cats in Hougang and Whampoa. Mr Slow and Baby have gone missing for five days. I have informed AVA. Many times I wondered what happens to all the missing cats. Mr Slow is a slow cat. He always stays at one place and I hardly see him moving around. First Puss and now Mr Slow. Before Puss, I have heard from my neighbours that two other cats were missing too. I told Mel that there is nothing I can do. I also told her to pardon me for being so mean. If someone has done something bad to these missing cats, I hope a lesson will be given to them to make them realise their mistakes. What they are doing does not only hurt the cats but the feeders too. I hope that the lessons that will change their life to be more sensitive and compassionate towards every living being.
I went to my old home at Whampoa in the evening. Before I left my house, I had to turn off all the lights. I knew the house was going to be dark when all lights are turned off and I really hate to be in the dark alone. The minute I came to the final light to be turned off, I turned my head, looked back, remembering how Miemi had taught me to be brave in the dark. I smiled, turned off the final light, without any fear in the dark, I opened the door steadily and walked out. Miemi made me a brave person:). I will always always remember that.
I am happy staying here in my new house. It’s windy and I am always feeling cold but Mel feels warm. The cats are adjusting themselves well. They are already running and jumping around. Polar got used to the house very quickly too. Mel felt Miemi jumping up the bed once and I am glad that Miemi has come home with us too. Miemi will make her presence obvious to me one day.
This is little Polar.
He was badly abused when we first brought him home. His back was scalded. There were bruises under his front and hind legs and there was even cigarette scars on both of his front legs. I sprayed antibacterial lotion on his wounds and applied medication. He recovered in no time. He is doing better in Sembawang than in Whampoa.
We had him sterilised three weeks ago and gave him a yearly injection too. Polar is a hearing-impaired cat. He can’t hear. I always have to wave at him to assure him that he is safe. Polar is part of the family. Cashie dotes on him a lot. Sunkiss is a little playful. He loves to lightly hit Polar and run away. Both of them are still kittens after all. Monnie hissed at Polar when Polar first joined us, now, Monnie has accepted Polar to be one of us.
I am comfortable with this flat and I am happy that all the cats are with me. I pray that Puss, Baby and Mr Slow are safe and well taken care off. I really miss them….
