Many people think that cat sterilisation is not correct and we have no right to take away the animals’ reproductive organs. Yes, I do agree. No one has the right to remove the animals’ reproductive rights.
I sterilised Miemi, Cashie and Monnie and stray cats – Blackie, Coco and Sunkiss.
I recently sterilised Sunkiss. My heart was always heavy by the thought of sterilising the strays. When I was carrying the cage with Sunkiss inside to the car park to pick up my vehicle, I was glad that it was me who carried Sunkiss and not anyone from AVA. We were on our way to the pets clinic for sterilisation. At that moment, at least I felt that I did not make the wrong decision. I dare not say that sterilising him was the right thing to do but I was not given any other choice to save him and all the cats.
This is Sunkiss.
At least after six days of sterilisation, he can still play and live his life. If he was caught by AVA, he wouldn’t have a chance to live and he would also be unable to provide human comfort. Animals too can accumulate good deeds in their lifetime.
Today, Sunkiss has made Mel and I smile. He plays with Cashie. Monnie is still not used to Sunkiss yet. We are all happy with Sunkiss’ existence. Miemi too:).
Many stray cats have made many people happy. For those people who find them a nuisance, these people seriously need to do some soul-searching. Cats are cats. We cannot change them. We can only change ourselves. Those who dislike cats and can’t wait to get rid of them seriously need to change themselves instead of expecting all living creatures to change for them.
I only hope that the cats that I feed have at least a meal a day. However, people out there selfishly tried to dissuade me from feeding the strays. They threatened and challenged me. They wanted me to stop feeding the strays. I wonder what good does it do to these people to stop me from feeding the strays? Just what good does it do to them???
I stand still and tall. Nothing threatens me. Nothing. Perhaps, I might be the last man standing haha…
Being a cat feeder is not an easy role to do. In order to stand still, one must be brave, wise, knowledgeable and compassionate.
Whenever someone tells me sterilising a cat is sinful, I would replay the day I carried Sunkiss for sterilisation in my mind and tell myself it is always better that I carry the strays for sterilisation than for AVA officers to carry them…
