Meet the new cat on my block, Blackie. He came from nowhere and seems hungry every time. Every time after feeding Queenie and the rest and if there is leftover food, I would feed some of the strays below my block.
I have never seen Blackie before and i notice that he is always hungry and talkative. He talks even with the food in his mouth, down the throat and when he finishes his food. He always makes funny noises and is very cute.
He recognises me always and follows me even when I don’t have food for him. I tried not to miss him when I was feeding the rest. Blackie was such a good boy that I don’t want any harm to come to him. So I arranged with the Cat’s Welfare Society to have him spayed.
It costs only $28 to spay him and through CWS I am able to reimburse $20. However, the total bill came out to be $233, just because of very small stitches on his head, Mel and I had to pay another $205. WOW!
We have no regrets bringing Blackie to the vet. I just felt that the bill could be less, especially kind-hearted people like Mel and I and the rest are doing out of good will to help many helpless little strays.
My suggestion to Mel is not to go back to Island Vet for the strays unless for serious cases. Island Vet is an excellent vet clinic, however, I don’t quite agree with how they charge. Animal Recovery Veterinary Centre is even worst. Mount Pleasant Hospital next. Bad vets over at Mount Pleasant Hospital. Oh… Some unpleasant incidents happened with Miemi’s treatment over at Animal Recovery Veterinary Centre, I think it is time for me to share my experiences in my next blog.
Little Blackie in the cage.
Yes, can’t really see him. Will take a clearer picture next time.
He isn’t used to the cage and didnt like to be caged. He struggled a lot yesterday but eventually gave way. He is eating well. Going to cook for him now. Don’t want to see him going hungry.
